7/23/2008 Justin Townes Earle at the Winnipeg Folk Festival
Every summer HowWasTheShow.com contributing photographer Sara Montour uses her photos to take us on a journey up into Canada to the Winnipeg Folk Festival. It's not something that even the most musical of musicheads in Minneapolis usually gets to experience, or even knows about. The festival has been going on since 1974, and every year around 62,000 people camp out to hear the best in the genres of folk music, world music, and Americana. Performers include renouned acts like Minnesota's own Spider John Koerner, as well as Basia Bulat, The Weakerthans, and Ray Davies. During the weekend Sara also kept HowWasTheShow staffers updated via Twitter, which was a nice way to get a taste of what we were sadly missing.
