1/17/2007 Maria Isa at First Avenue

Local music lover and photographer Steve Cohen snapped this great shot of Maria Isa at last week's Radio K Best New Bands Showcase at First Avenue.  Isa and local hip-hop instrumentalists Leroy Smokes performed midway through the showcase, and it was by far the most unique set of the night.  Alternating between rapping in Spanish and English ("I speak Spanglish," she noted), Isa demanded attention with her quick tongue, sexy attitude and bright red track suit.
