5/13/2007 Andrew Benon at the Varsity Theater

Local photographer and Varsity Theater photo archiver Clark Patrick snapped this shot of Andrew Benon this past Friday.  Benon's debut disc, Rock and Roll Moves, seems to serve as a time portal back to the best new wave pop of the '80s, combining synthesizers and electronic beats with strong, soaring vocal melodies. 

Benon played the Varsity in support of his CD's release, with openers Kubla Khan and the Hopefuls.
