Sunday, September 30th found local favorites Dance Band in the midst of a music video explosion. The Varsity Theater was filled with fans and professional actors alike - as well as multiple video cameras, directors, sound techs, and stage managers. Over the course of six hours, extras danced their collective asses off to Dance Band's first real single, "Shake Your Baby Maker." Those familiar with the tune know that this is not a slow jam. After the fourth time getting down, sweat poured from the band and those recruited to shake their bodies to the beat.
Fans who came to dance were treated to live music performances by Dance Band as well as the experience of watching a local band make a kick ass music video. The Captain and The Perfect Beat also provided entertainment in-between shots to keep the crowd going. There were sing alongs to Survivor's "Eye of the Tiger," Mr. Big's "To Be With You," and a plethora of other random tunes. The boys beat-boxed at other times, creating silly lyrics and causing moments of hilarity. Later, after the extras filtered out and DB was left to its own devices, The Perfect Beat snapped this shot of bass player The Philanderer, lounging about among the various set pieces.
