10/14/2007 Chris Koza at Modified Arts, Phoenix, Arizona
Chris Koza and his band, in a lineup that currently includes
Linnea Mohn of
Coach Said Not To on bass, are out on a mega tour right now. Sunday evening October 14th, I caught up with them at
Modified Arts, a small alcohol-free art gallery-type venue in
Phoenix, Arizona where the band opened for
Scout Niblett. They put on a great set, had a quiet attentive audience for their songs both old and new. Sitting on the unfinished wood floor, I caught this picture of Chris mid-set.
The day after this photo was taken, the band's van broke down en route to
Los Angeles, and sadly they had to cancel their show there. "It was a huge bummer," guitar player Peter Sieve told me in an email. As of Tuesday, however, the van was fixed and the band was back on the road. They will swing up the West Coast then head back to the Midwest in early November, finally wrapping up the tour December 1st in
Madison. See the full tour schedule on their MySpace account:
http://www.myspace.com/chriskozaband and see my full set from their show
here.
