Scotland's favorite sons, The Fratellis, returned to Minneapolis on September 11th to bring some bounce to First Avenue. The crowd was more than happy to comply, and frantically waved, jumped, twisted, and moshed to new a bunch of new tunes. Of course, the biggest cheers came for the iPod commercial song "Flathead," as well as fan favorites "Henrietta" and "Chelsea Dagger."
Opening for the boys this time around were the UK band Electric Touch, as well as one of my new favorites, The Airborne Toxic Event. The Airborne Toxic Event hail from LA (well, as much as one can be from LA) and got on the radio and began selling out venues all on their own. Meaning? Labels came to them. The attention is well deserved as they make beautiful rock music that I've found spinning in my CD player since their self-titled album came out two weeks ago.
